My very first memory is of the day I got my pony. I was three years old, and on Christmas morning after all the gifts had been unwrapped, my family told me there was one final gift waiting outside.

That was Patches – a little pinto Shetland. He was chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail, and one blue eye. That was the day I found out that ponies are a gateway drug, and it was all downhill from there. I had been bitten by the horse bug. 

I started my first horse under saddle with help from my grandpa as a teenager, and from 13 to 18 we owned and raised 5 APHA horses named Mia, Brandy, Misty, Ginger, and Blaze.

As it does sometimes, life (and college) put a hold on my equestrian life. I sold my horses, moved away from home, and got a job as a professional graphic designer. But like any true horse lover – my passion never went away.

It was thanks to my friend Brittany Elsas that I was introduced to equine photography, and suddenly my two passions collided. I now had a new gateway into the world I had missed so desperately, and a way to connect with other amazing horsewomen whose love for their animals helped me to rediscover the beauty of horses. In two years I have not only gotten to photograph dozens of riders and their horses, but also to train several horses, take lessons in various disciplines, and participate in local shows – all through the friendships I’ve made through my business.

2022 brings a new step in my journey with the purchase of my mare, Kitty – a 3 year old palomino quarter horse. I am so excited to see what we can accomplish together, and to create all of the same memories that I am so blessed to be able to capture for my clients.
